. after finishing the five- and six-string kantele (and a ten-string being in the works), this is our new project. jouhikko and similar instruments, most likely a three stringed one. as usuall i'd like to ask anyone at this forum who may know of some helpfull links on how to build a jouhikko et simile, to please post them here. it would be greatly appreciated! much of the guess-work has been and will still be done via photos, and i've located a few sites with some useful information on the instrument, however two of them are solely in finnish, and mine is near non-existant. so, may i humbly ask for a translation from the finnish speakers at the forum? if there is any relevant information here, of course. and there is little text in any case. the one that looks more relevant is the Sibelius Academy one. especially the text on tuning and construction facts seem interesting - i'm not sure however, if there is anything there beyond the stats we really need to know? and there's also the one by Rauno Nieminen. no idea if there's any relevant information there, beyond a few photos (and the music links . we've also got this 'blueprint' for a tagelharpa, which i guess should help too. all help is and will be greatly appreciated! and now to bug the folks at the Poropetra forum... .
